The ticket book contains 10 tickets. The book cannot be divided, but individual tickets may be torn out for punching. More than one people may use the ticket book at the same time. In this case one ticket must be validated for each passenger. Validated tickets must be kept until the current trip and the book itself until the end of the last trip, and both must be presented to the inspector on request. Ticket book is non-returnable.

MVK Zrt. allows the possibility of bicycle transportion exclusively on its Škoda trams, which is indicated by the bicycle stickers placed on the vehicles.

One passenger can transport only one bicycle, for which the purchase and validation of 1 piece of 24-hour pass for bicycles can be exclusively purchased in advance. The 24-hour pass for bicycles is valid for 24 hours from the validation time of the ticket, for the entire length of the tram lines, used on the trams. After the validation, it can be used for 24 hours without limitation, as a valid proof of bicycle transportation.

24-hour pass is valid for 24 hours from the indicated date and time (month, day, hour, minute) on all scheduled services of MVK Zrt., for any number of journeys within the administrative boundary of the city.

72-hour pass is valid for 72 hours from the indicated date and time (month, day, hour, minute) on all scheduled services of MVK Zrt., for any number of journeys within the administrative boundary of the city.

7-day tourist ticket is valid from 0 hours on the starting day specified until 24 hours on the sixth day therefrom, on all scheduled services of MVK Zrt., for any number of journeys within the administrative boundary of the city. The ticket is issued for a specific person and may not be used by others. The owner must write their name on it in ink prior to starting the first journey. The ticket must be presented to the inspector along with appropriate identification.

Weekend family ticket may be used from Saturday 0 hours until Sunday 24 hours on the specified weekend, on all scheduled services of MVK Zrt., for any number of journeys within the administrative boundary of the city. The ticket may be sued by one or two adults and up to three children no older than 14 years if they travel together. For children over 6 years of age, a valid Hungarian student ID card must be presented.

All month and year pass is valid from the first day of the calendar month or year specified until 24 hours on the 5th day of the month following the expiry. The 30-day pass can be bought on any day, and its allow travelling from 0.00 of the given day of the given month to 24.00 of the same day minus one day of the following month. (for example from 0.00 of the 10th of the given month to 24 00 of 9th of the following month.) Its may only be used along with a form of ID, except for pass without a photo. Full-price pass may only be used with a general pass ID, and discounted student pass with a valid student ID with a photo, or with the photo ID issued by MVK Zrt. to under-18’s who participate in retraining; OAP pass must be used with the temporary or permanent pass ID issued by MVK Zrt. or general pass ID’s, a 4 x 4 cm traditional or digital, black and white or colour passport photo is needed, taken in front of a light background and no more than 3 months before, and the personal ID card must be presented. The ticket vendor issuing the pass ID may reject the photo if due to a fault in the picture it cannot be used for identification or if it was taken a long time before. The pass slip must be marked with the serial number of the pass ID or of the student ID before starting the first journey in ink or with a typewriter.

The single-line bus pass must be marked by the ticket vendor with the line number it is valid for. The single-line bus pass is only valid on the line specified, and may not be used on other lines that travel along the same route.

The 5/30 pass block contains 5 tickets, each with a validity period of 24 hours. The pass block is valid for 30 days from an optional starting day. Before travel, please indicate by crossing out the strat date and time (day, hour, minute) of your trip on the 24-hour ticket - indicate only one date, do not correct afterwards. The start date must be within the indicated 30-day validity period. The validity of the ticket used on the last (30th) day of validity may extend into the 31st day. The individual ticket is valid for 24 hours from the indicated time and date on all scheduled services of MVK Zrt., for any number of journeys within the administrative boundary of the city. The tickets of the 5/30 pass block are printed as a single document and must not be separeted. The 5/30 pass block is to be used by one person at a time.

The quarterly pass can be purchased with any starting day and is valid for 100 days. It is valid from midnight of the indicated optional starting day (but from the time of purchase at the earliest) to midnight of the 100th day on all scheduled sevices of MVK Zrt., for any number of journeys within the administrative boundary of the city. To be used together with one of the following types of ID: a valid personal photo ID, passport or card-format driving licence or MVK ID. Please provide the ID number at the time of purchase as it will be printed onto the slip. Valid with linked original photo ID only. The pass is non-transferable. If the pass gets damaged or the ID number has changed, the pass will be exchanged for the same type of pass with the same validity in return for a handling fee at the designated locations. Please bear in mind that we cannot replace lost passes. The pass can only be redeemed before the start of validity. To be purchased only by natural persons (not businesses).

The semester pass is valid for the indicated period – either from 1 September to 5 February of the following year, or from 1 February to 5 July – from midnight on the first day (but from the time of purchase at the earlist) until midnight on the last day on all scheduled services of MVK ZRt., for any number of journeys within the administrative boundary of the city.

The pass to be used together with a student ID issued for students attending full-time or evening courses. Valid with linked original photo ID only. The pass is non-transferable. If the pass gets damaged or the ID number has changed, the pass will be exchanged for the same type of pass with the same validity in return for a handling fee at the designated locations. Please note that we cannot replace lost passes. The pass can only be redeemed before the start of validity.

With effect from 1 July 2007, Miskolc Városi Közlekedési Zrt. makes it possible for those who are entitled to use local transport free of charge and the suburban line (Line 7 operated between Miskolc and Felsőzsolca by Miskolc Városi Közlekedési Zrt.) with a 90% discount to obtain a photo ID. It is not mandatory to obtain this ID card, but those who do may present it to the ticket inspectors of MVK Zrt. to verify their entitlement to the discount.

The following are entitled to the discount:

• children who receive the higher family benefit, regardless of age,
• people with severe disabilities as per Act XXVI of 1998

Those in receipt of the higher family benefit may verify their entitlement with the certificate issued by the Hungarian State Treasury (Magyar Államkincstár) (Annex 1). According to Act XXVI of 1998, people with severe disabilities may verify their entitlement with the resolution issued by the Hungarian State Treasury (Annex 3). Those entitled to the discount may register at the Customer Service Office of MVK Zrt. After the registration, they will receive a photo ID. The ID is prepared by marking the currently used temporary OAP pass ID with the letter F.

The following documents are needed for the registration:

• the original of the certificate or resolution issued by the Hungarian State Treasury or the original of the certificate issued by the organisation disbursing the higher family benefit
• one 4 x 4 cm passport photo not older than 3 months
• personal ID card

ID issue charge: 500 HUF

Plastic case for the pass: 80 HUF

The ID is valid for maximum one year from the date of issuing or until the final date of disbursing the higher family benefit as shown on the certificate presented. The travelcard must be validated at a ticket vendor office before the expiry date. Entitlement has to be verified again for the validation.

If entitled person does not obtain the travelcard, they will be able to verify their entitlement by presenting the appropriate certificate, resolution or authority verification.

Monthly pass slips as well as day, tourist and weekend family tickets may be returned to the MKV Zrt. ticket vendors or the Customer Service Office prior to the start of their validity for the entire purchase price to be refunded save for an administration charge of HUF 250.(from 1 January 2023, 500 HUF)

The person requesting the above returns must verify their identity with a photo ID (personal ID card, passport, driving licence). Students may also use their student ID’s. The pass slips purchased by companies and other organisations for their employees may only be returned for 100 % of the purchase price if so requested in writing by the organisation in question. Such cases are handled by the Ticket and Pass Vendor Department or at the Customer Service Office.

If a private person asked for a VAT invoice when purchasing a pass slip, the pass slip may only be returned along with the VAT invoice.

Single tickets and ticket books may not be returned. The term of their validity is defined by the local government.

Year passes purchased at a discounted price may not be returned.
